Delhi to Goa

ou've two options to travel from Delhi to Goa : By Flight and Train.

Delhi to Goa by Train: It's a two day affair by one of those long distance trains from Delhi to Goa. The express trains takes about 33 hours to cover the 2200 km (about 1370 miles). The fastest (and the expensive too!) Rajadhani Express take about 25hours.

There are 2 daily express trains , and about 8 weekly or bi-weekly trains between Delhi and Goa.

Mangala Lakshadweep Express (Train No:12618) and the Goa Express (Train No: 12780) are daily express trains that leaves H.Nizamuddin station of Delhi for Goa.

By the way , Goa has many railway stations. Select the one that suits based on the train you chose and your destination in Goa. Most of the trains to Goa pass via Madgaon (MAO). Vasco da Gama (VSO) is where the Goa Express (Train No: 12780) ends or starts the journey to/from Delhi.

All the trains from Delhi leaves from H.Nizamuddin station for Goa , except the Goa Sampark Kranti Express (Train No:12450) and Kerala Sampark Kranti Express (Train No:12218) which has stop both at New Delhi (NDLS) and H.Nizamuddin (NZM)

Rajadhani Express (Train Number :12432) leaves H.Nizamuddin (NZM) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays. The train has 1AC,2AC and 3AC coaches. Delhi to Madgaon fare ranges around Rs6000 for 1AC, Rs3500 for 2AC and Rs2500 for 3AC ticket.

 

For the regular express trains a non-ac sleeper class ticket cost about Rs 780, 2AC about Rs3000 and 3AC about Rs2000

Many trains from north and west of India going towards Kerala connects Goa.

Delhi to Goa Flights:

Spicejet, Indigo, GoAir and Air India operate direct flights to Goa (GOI) from New Delhi (DEL). A round trip ticket would cost about Rs10000, if booked reasonably well in advance.

Flight time between Goa and New Delhi is around 2 hours 30 minutes. In case if you are not able to get a direct flight, look for a connection via Mumbai (BOM). There are frequent flights between Mumbai and Goa.
